I believe the only year that the adapter had a bearing in it was in 72. When I tried to get parts for it GM kept telling me that it was a 1 year only thing. I had a 350/205 in a 72 blazer and it did have the bearing in the adapter. It always leaked trans fluid to the transfer case. I just kept adding fluid to the trans and draining the transfer ....
