Void just covers more ground, deals with all types of power gain not just passive, heal block/reversal, & incinerate immunity. Spidey 2099 is still a very useable champ unawakened. You will very quickly progress beyond 4* champs. This game is a marathon, not a sprint. In another month or two of consistent playing you'll be well on your way to building a roster of 5* champs. 5 stars are a solid investment when you get there because they are still useful in Acts 6 & 7. You cannot even bring 4* champs into Act 6 or 7.A lot of science champs need awakening and high sig unfortunately Cap iw, void, thing 200 sig Also high sig for miles, Mr fantastic Spiderman 2099, overseer, immortal hulk also need to be awakened Only one's you can rank up without awakening are torch and quake as far as i know.. Hyperion is an absolute beast if you have him. Venom works very well too, with him gaining buffs constantly. Cap IW works just as nice if he's awakened and at a decent sig level, so he'll constantly apply debuffs. Annihilus is somewhat underrated, but he's just as good as Hype for incursions tbh. I was debating using an awakening gem on mine (generic) and held off. I ended up duping her and took her sig to 50. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't awaken her because I'm not seeing much damage from it. Her big damage numbers comes from her critical bleeds from specials (mainly L2). Her sig affects that in no way.
