Baffle strikes

I am looking to do a form 1 for a 9mm can in the near future and had a few questions I could hopefully get some advice on. I would be lying if I said….

YHM R2 baffle strike, curious to hear others' experiences getting their cans repaired. I was looking at my R2 a few weeks ago and my heart sank when I noticed the end cap was damaged. I'm not sure when it happened but I'm fairly sure I know how it happened. I screwed it on all my hosts and checked each combo with two separate alignment ...That top one will be a baffle strike. And tbh those are both pretty good barrel makers. It’s also two different alignment rods....only similarity between em is the can. It’s going to be super annoying getting it fixed everytime

Depends on the damage and type of can. End cap strikes with no baffle damage is simple. Sometimes you can replace the baffles/internal and still have the same s/n such/tube. Sometimes it's worse and it's a complete replacement with a wait. Some modern 3d printed types always have to be completely replaced every time. (To the best of my knowledge)I have a sneaky feeling it was a 300blk round, because I've shot 100s of 556 through this can with no issue and then the one day I shoot 300blk I notice the strike. Unless a random 556 round did it before, and I just didn't see it. Unless your gun exploded, it wouldn't be 300Blk. Further, Sandmans fit 7.62.I blew it out with some PMC 223 after I was done, but there is a LOT of lead build-up on the baffles. Some of the baffles look like they have had a few spots welded off/damaged, but I can't see anything that looks like a baffle strike--just severe pitting/erosion in places. For those that haven't done this with a centerfire suppressor, DONT!!!

The data also showed that despite DA selling a higher volume of cans, the Sandman series in particular has a significantly higher percentage of baffle strikes than any other manufacturer. This could of course be because DA is a common choice for new owners, but that still doesn't explain why the Nomad series doesn't seem to have these issues.I just saw a can back yesterday for customer service from 2008- early gate lock m4sd (prior to m4sd-2 in 2010). The owner had over-deflected and bent the spring and lost or damaged the gate. Thats a 14 year old can without baffle strikes. It wasn’t worn out- it had zero baffle strikes or grazes. Is it too radical to move the insane amount of baffle strike posts over to r/bafflestrike and leave r/nfa for all the good things in life? 693 points. 105 comments. 1. 0 comments. share. save. Designed with Dual Arc Baffle technology, the Mystic is incredibly quiet for a centerfire monolithic core suppressor as well. Oct 26, 2022 · 1. Josh/CGS can say that about their cans because the bore rapers larger, so you are shooting a .224 projectile through a .375 hole at the end of the can (in the case of using it on a 556). It’s basically impossible to have a baffle strike due to poor muzzle threads on a CGS can because of this. 2. I could have claimed to Surefire that my can was stuck and the baffle strike occurred when I tried to shoot it off per their instructions. But that would be lying. Attachments.
